Useful Information for the Workshop

Location

All courses and lectures take place in the building NW II in the lecture room H 17 (unless otherwise stated in the program).

Registration Desk

You will find the registration desk in the building "NW II" (Natural Sciences II) near the lecture room H 17.
The registration desk is open every day from 8-9 am and during the lunch breaks.

Booklet with the Program

At the registration you will receive a booklet with the program (courses, talks, poster presentations).
The summer course of James Rawlings starts at Monday, September 9 at 9:00 a.m. as announced in the webpage (and not at 9:30 a.m. as stated in the booklet).

Poster Session

The poster session will take place on Thursday, September 12, 15:10 - 16:30 near the coffee break area. Poster presenters should put up their posters during the lunch break on Thursday.

Coffee Breaks and Meals

For coffee and lunch breaks please see the program. Additionally, there will be coffee served in the morning before the first lecture starts. Coffee and lunch will be served in front of the lecture hall H 17.

Wireless LAN

At the registration desk you will have to sign a form with your name and institution to acknowledge the guide lines for users (PDF) of the IT-Service Center. You will get an individual user name "ompcXXX" and password. The wireless LAN is available in the whole building "NW II". Please be aware that there is no eduroam support at our university!

how to proceed:
Go to an arbitrary web page with your browser (choose the protocol "http", not "https"). You will be redirected to an authorization page of the portal in which you have to enter your individual user name "ompcXXX" and password. After the correct authentication you have access to the network.

Beamer/Laptop in the Lecture Rooms

There is a Windows laptop available which you can use for your presentation. Alternatively, you may use your own laptop. There is a beamer with the resolution 1024x768. Only VGA adapters (no DVI or HDMI) are supported. If you plan your talk with special media (audio, video, network), please contact the organizers before the workshop.
