aims of the project

In the case of event based controlling the controller reacts on events caused by the closed loop control. These events indicate perturbations or unwanted huge errors of the controller. Hence, the activity times of the controller is restricted to time intervals in which the controller has to react on perturbations or changes of the reference values. Therefore, the exchange of information between the closed loop and the controller on a digitally linked data network is limited to the essential amount needed for the solution of the control problem.

The event based controlling initiates new theoretical questions, since the basic assumption on the sampled-data controller is not satisfied here, i.e. the exchange of information between the closed loop and the controller is not carried out on equidistant time intervals. In this project three complementary approaches on the modelling, the analysis and the design of event-based controlling is pursued.
