Information for Guests

Location of our chair and lecture rooms

Our chair and most of the chairs in our department are located in the building “Naturwissenschaften II” (NW 2, Natural Sciences).

Most of the rooms that we are using for lectures, workshops or seminar talks are located in this building.
Sometimes, seminar talks are also located in the buildings “Informatik” (INF/AI, Computer Science) or “Fakultät für Angewandte Naturwissenschaften” (FAN, Faculty of Engineering Sciences).
For a bigger audience, e.g., for plenary talks, such a talk will be held in the “Audimax”.

All buildings are located on the main campus of the University of Bayreuth.

Please see our list of hotels for instructions about how to get to the university campus from selected hotels by walking or by bus. General information about how to reach Bayreuth and about buses in Bayreuth can be found below.

Lunch

Lunch is usually held in the Mensa (University Restaurant). The canteen offers four meal options:

  1. Hauptmensa” [en] with a range of different main courses (including a vegetarian meal), which can be combined with a number of side dishes (only open around noon)
  2. Frischmensa” [en] with more regional food (2-3 main meals with fixed side dishes) and a salad bar with 2-3 warm snacks
At least one of the meals is vegetarian or vegan.
  3. “salad bar” with fresh ingredients and 2-3 warm snacks which can be combined
  4. “cafeteria”

Wifi

The secured Eduroam and the slower free BayernWLAN are available everywhere on the Campus.
