Research Interests
- My research interests lie in nonlinear systems and control theory, with a focus on numerical and optimisation-based methods. This includes, for instance, model predictive control, numerical and AI-based methods for Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman PDEs, and the long-time dynamics of nonlinear systems. I also work on applications of these methods in engineering, science and economy.

- April 2002 until today: Professor of Applied Mathematics, since August 2009 also Head of the Chair of Applied Mathematics within the Mathematical Institute of the Universität Bayreuth
- September 2015 until February 2016: Visiting Professor at the Schools of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Mathematical and Physical Sciences of the University of Newcastle, Australia

Im Wintersemester 2024/2025 bin ich in den Zeiträumen 11.-14.11.24 und 9.-19.12.24 wegen Dienstreisen nicht in Bayreuth. Vom 23.12.24 bis zum 6.1.25 bin ich in den Weihnachtsferien.
